The theme of this year’s Conference is “Supporting Each Other-Shaping Our Communities” and will offer informative sessions on leadership, officer wellness and invaluable law enforcement training. The Conference will include a series of speakers addressing relevant and current law enforcement topics. Confirmed speakers include LG Judy Foote, Chief Leanne Fitch, Anne Marie Hagan, Melendy Muise, Natalia Villett and Roger Brown, RCMP.
During our Training Conference we will be having our Annual Awards Banquet on the evening of October 17, 2019. I hope you can join me in Congratulating all of our award winners for 2019. The winners will be posted in the next edition of The Notebook and celebrated on our website after the Conference.
In August I attended the graduation dinner at the Atlantic Police Academy where I was happy to present the AWLE sponsored award for the top female cadet for “Leadership in Fitness” Cadet Kennedie Ogden. We wish Cadet Ogden well on her future career in law enforcement and hope to see her at a future AWLE event.
We are also happy to announce we have extended our partnership with the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement (OWLE) and AXON Public Safety Canada. This partnership will help support our mission to encourage, promote and advance women in law enforcement.
Join our Executive Team! At our 2019 Conference we will also have elections for the following AWLE Executive positions: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Please contact any of our Executive members for more information
Sincerely yours,
Carolyn Nichols
AWLE President
